Change at a rapid pace

It’s hard to fathom how fast the coronavirus situation has changed since we published our first, related blog on the 7th of February.

At that time, we had not seen a material increase in demand in the UK for disposable gloves. Today, we have faced unprecedented demand and are busy reviewing the allocation of incoming stocks and our prices. We will communicate this information to our customers as soon as it’s available.

Keeping our colleagues safe

Unigloves remains open, with most of our UK team working from home and a skeletal crew working from our UK headquarters.

Due to local governmental Movement Control Orders, we have reduced staffing at our factories in Malaysia by 50 percent. Following government advice, we believe it will be safe to fully staff our Malaysian factories from the 14th of April.

Should I wear disposable gloves?

The overlying message is ‘Yes’ if you’re a healthcare professional involved in the direct care of patients.

Importantly, the use of gloves does not replace the need for appropriate hand hygiene, which should be performed frequently, as advised in The World Health Organization’s personal protective equipment guidance.

I'm a Healthcare Professional, which gloves should I wear?

If you’re a healthcare professional that needs disposable gloves to act as a barrier against the COVID-19 virus, please watch this animated guide on which gloves are suitable from the Unigloves’ range.

We continue to monitor this situation and will publish more updates accordingly.
